2017 football season review: Northwestern Wildcats

Pat Fitzgerald has one of the rising programs in the Big Ten. The Wildcats are in a bowl for the eighth time in the last 10 years. And with a win vs. Kentucky in the Music City Bowl, NU will earn a 10th victory in a season for the second time in the last four years and the third time since 2012.

Nebraska tops Florida, 3-1, wins fifth national title

The Nebraska women’s volleyball team downed Florida, 3-1, to win the national title Saturday night. Nebraska won its final 19 matches en route to picking up the program’s fifth NCAA crown, the third-most in history, and second in the last three seasons, also taking the 2015 title in Omaha, Nebraska. The Big Ten has won eight of the last 11 NCAA championships, including four of the last five. The Huskers won it the year before this run of dominance, in 2006, as a member of the Big 12. Mikaela Foecke, Kelly Hunter and Kenzie Maloney were named to the all-tournament

Corey Sanders, Rutgers stun No. 15 Seton Hall, 71-65

Corey Sanders scored eight of his season-high 22 points in a game-ending 17-2 run Saturday, leading Rutgers to its biggest victory since Steve Pikiell became coach last year - a 71-65 win over No. 15 Seton Hall.
