There are only a few days left to register for the summer race that turns Chicago into a Big Ten tailgate party. RAM Racing will be partnering with BTN to produce the sixth annual BTN Big 10K, presented by MB Financial Bank, on Sunday, July 23, in Grant Park. New this year, finishers can pick their favorite school-specific Big Ten medal after completing the race. Additionally, Big Ten school-specific shirts are back in 2017. Penn State football standout, retired Chicago Bear and social media sensation Anthony ?Spice? Adams will serve as this year?s grand marshal and Special Olympics Chicago will return as the event?s nonprofit partner.

Following the race, stick around for the ultimate Big Ten Tailgate Party and Fan Fest, which will include a performance by Chicago-based cover band Maggie Speaks, team cheerleaders, Big Ten mascots, football-themed games and activities, such as corn hole, field-goal kicking and the 40-yard dash. The Tailgate Party and Fan Fest will also include tents hosted by the Chicago Big Ten Alumni Associations along with food and beverage concessions. Each race finisher will receive an Amylu sausage. For finishers 21 and older, they will also receive Revolution Brewery?s Cross of Gold beer. Revolution Brewery?s Rev Pils and Fist City will also be for sale at the Tailgate Party and Fan Fest.

The 10K course, with a start and finish in Chicago?s iconic Grant Park, allows runners to traverse the Windy City?s famed streets with views of Buckingham Fountain, Lake Michigan and Chicago?s world- renowned skyline. Registration is now open and starts at $60 for adults for the 10K and $50 for the 5K walk/run. For children 12 and under, registration is $25 for the 5K. The 10K race begins at 7 a.m. with the 5K starting at 8 a.m. (subject to change). For all other information on the BTN Big 10K presented by MB Financial Bank visit www.BTNBig10K.com.

The 10K will include participation by top area runners and award-winners from previous years? events, as well as many former varsity student-athletes from Big Ten schools. Awards and cash prizes will be presented to the top five male and female 10K finishers overall. There will also be a cash prize for the top male and female runners who are alumni of a Big Ten university. Additional prizes will be awarded to runners who show the most school spirit through festive costumes and school-inspired accessories. Every finisher of the 10K or 5K will receive their choice of their favorite Big Ten school-specific BTN Big 10K race medal.
