Matta, who arrived in Columbus, Ohio, before the 2004-05 season, led the Buckeyes to five Big Ten regular-season titles and four Big Ten tourney crowns, all while amassing a 337-123 record.

The Hoopeston, Illinois, native had his best season in 2006-07, when, behind the heralded recruiting class of Greg Oden, Mike Conley and Daequan Cook, Matta led Ohio State to the national final; he also coached the Buckeyes to the 2012 Final Four.

Here are seven fun Matta moments from the BTN era.

The time he quoted "Semi Pro" …

The time he recited a funny Mark Titus quip …

The time he decided he was still a player …

The time he was pretty stoic after Evan Turner's game-winner …

The time he was resourceful with his gum …

The time he was proud of his gum …

The time he talked about his beard after breaking Ohio State's wins record …
