With a 4-0 victory over Michigan State on Friday night, Minnesota clinched the outright Big Ten Championship. In addition to their fourth consecutive Big Ten regular-season crown, the Gophers (23-10-2, 14-5-0-0 Big Ten) secured the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Big Ten Men?s Ice Hockey Tournament.

Defenseman Jack Sadek netted a pair of goals in the first period, including the game-winner, to notch his first career multi-goal game. Darian Romanko and Ryan Collins sealed the win with goals in the third period, while Eric Schierhorn recorded 24 saves to earn his fifth shutout of the season and the eighth of his career.

The Gophers will conclude the regular season Saturday night against Michigan State. Minnesota will then make its Big Ten Tournament debut on Friday, March 17.
