NCAA tournament: Three Big Ten volleyball teams advance in straight set sweeps

The Big Ten had three teams advance to the NCAA tournament’s Second Round Thursday, and they each did it without dropping a set. Purdue, Michigan and Wisconsin are all moving on.

Purdue got the evening off to a good start with a 26-24, 25-21, 25-13 home win over Iowa State. It marked the 11th straight trip to the NCAA Second Round for the Boilers, where they will face No. 15 Missouri Friday.

No. 12 Michigan made quick work of American University, winning 25-13, 25-23, 25-12 to move on. The Wolverines will take on Oregon Friday.

No. 3 Wisconsin capped the night with a dominant 25-11, 25-18, 25-12 victory over Howard. The Badgers face Washington State Friday.

Five additional Big Ten volleyball teams (Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska) will play First Round matches Friday.
