Iowa trounces Texas-Rio Grande Valley, 95-67

(AP) Peter Jok scored 20 of his 27 points in the first half and Iowa cruised to a 95-67 win over Texas Rio Grande Valley on Sunday.
Jok, Iowa’s top scorer, left a few minutes into the second half after a collision with a defender at the rim. Jok stayed in to shoot his two free throws, but did not play after that. He went to the locker room for a couple minutes before returning to the bench.
Jok was 9-of-13 shooting, including 5-of-8 3-pointers, in 19 minutes.
Antonio Green scored 17 points to lead UTRGV (0-4), which out-rebounded Iowa 43-38.
The Hawkeyes went on a 26-7 run in the middle of the game to pull away from the Vaqueros.
Iowa’s Brady Ellingson scored 11 points.
Iowa forward Dale Jones did not play after suffering a fractured wrist on Thursday against Seton Hall. Jones is expected to miss 8-9 weeks.
