Ohio State claims first Big Ten tourney title since 2007

No. 4 Ohio State held off No. 8 Iowa, 8-7, in the Big Ten tournament title game Sunday afternoon at TD Ameritrade Park.

The Buckeyes avenged their lone loss in the event en route to earning the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

Ohio State came through the loser’s bracket to claim their first Big Ten tourney crown since 2007, having to beat Michigan State twice, once on Saturday night (extra innings) and another time on Sunday morning, to advance to play the Hawkeyes, the lowest seed in the event.
