Johns Hopkins and Maryland were selected to the 2016 NCAA Men?s Lacrosse Tournament, as announced on the NCAA Selection Show Sunday night. The Blue Jays will face fifth-seeded Brown on Saturday, May 14, while the top-seeded Terrapins will host the Quinnipiac/Hartford winner on Sunday, May 15.

Johns Hopkins earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Tournament after finishing the regular season with an 8-6 record, including a 3-2 mark in Big Ten play. The Blue Jays will face off against Brown next Saturday at 5 p.m. ET on ESPNU. Johns Hopkins is making its record 44th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and third straight.

Maryland earned the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1987 after posting a 14-2 record during the regular season, including a 5-0 Big Ten slate. The Terrapins earned the outright Big Ten Championship and Big Ten Tournament title. Maryland?s first round game will air on ESPNU next Sunday at 12:30 p.m. ET. The Terrapins will be making their 39th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 14th straight trip.

All NCAA Tournament first round games will be televised on ESPNU. The quarterfinal games will all be televised on ESPN2 or ESPNU on May 21 and May 22. The semifinal and championship games will be held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia from May 28-30. The semifinals will be televised live on ESPN2 on May 28 and the championship game will appear live on ESPN2 on May 30.

Three Big Ten teams were selected to the 2016 NCAA Women?s Lacrosse Tournament, as announced on the NCAA Selection Show Sunday night. Maryland, Northwestern and Penn State will represent the conference in this year's bracket, with the Terrapins earning the No. 1 overall seed in the tournament.

Maryland received a bye in the opening round. The Terrapins will host the winner of Friday?s Virginia-Johns Hopkins game in the second round on Sunday, May 15. Maryland earned the outright Big Ten Championship and Big Ten Tournament title, and enters the NCAA Tournament with an unblemished 19-0 record. The Terps will be making their 32nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 27th straight trip.

Northwestern will face Louisville in the first round on Friday, May 13 in South Bend, Ind. The Wildcats and Cardinals will meet in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. Northwestern earned an at-large bid after posting a 10-9 overall record, including a 3-2 mark in Big Ten play. Northwestern is making its 18th appearance in the NCAA Tournament and 13th consecutive trip.

Penn State earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament after going 11-6 overall, including a 3-2 mark in conference play. The Nittany Lions will face Winthrop in Gainesville, Fla., on May 13. Penn State is making its 22nd trip to the NCAA Tournament and secures its fifth straight appearance.

Eight sites will host first- and second-round competition on May 13 and May 15, and four quarterfinal games will be played on May 21 or May 22. These preliminary-round games will be played on the campuses of competing institutions. The winners of the four quarterfinal games will advance to the semifinals and final on May 27 and May 29, respectively, at Talen Energy Stadium in Philadelphia. The semifinal games will be shown live on ESPN3 on May 27. The championship game will air on ESPNU at Noon ET on May 29.
