The top-seeded Maryland men?s lacrosse team won the 2016 Big Ten Tournament title after posting a 14-8 win over second-seeded Rutgers in the championship game at Homewood Field on Saturday night.

The Terrapins? Matt Rambo recorded a hat trick and added three assists, while Connor Kelly scored four goals and Dylan Maltz produced a hat trick. Goalie Kyle Bernlohr tallied 12 saves in the cage. Rutgers was led by Big Ten Freshman of the Year Adam Charalambides, who scored three goals.

Rambo was named the tournament Most Valuable Player after scoring two goals and adding an assist in the semifinals against Johns Hopkins, and totaling six points against the Scarlet Knights.

Maryland won its program record 13th straight game and earns the conference?s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show will air on ESPNU Sunday night at 9 p.m. ET.
