Rachel Banham needed 50 points to become the Big Ten's all-time leading scorer Sunday afternoon.

The Minnesota star would have to wait until next week, right?

Nope.

Banham, she of the Big Ten women's single-game record and NCAA-tying 60 points on Super Bowl Sunday, erupted for 52 points in Minnesota's 114-106 loss at Michigan State.

She set the record (2,921 points), appropriately, on a contested, deep 3-pointer in the closing seconds.

Banham wasn't the only star in the Minnesota-Michigan State game, though. Michigan State's Aerial Powers poured in a career-high 40 points in the victory, which marked Suzy Merchant's 400th career win.
