If you look at the NCAA Division I rankings for any collegiate sport, chances are you?re going to see multiple Big Ten universities in the mix. They?re also well-represented in another ranking: the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-American awards.

The list, which came out earlier this month, measures student-athletes across all sports, as of June 2015. Eight Big Ten universities made the top 25 for all-time honorees, more than any other conference, with Nebraska coming in at No. 1.

Here are the Big Ten universities that made the list:

1. Nebraska (320 all-time Academic All-Americans)
5. Penn State (189)
14. University of Michigan (125, tied with UCLA)
16. Ohio State (124)
19. Michigan State (117)
22. Minnesota (113)
23. Purdue (109)
24. Wisconsin (106)

Additionally, Penn State wrestling champ Matt Brown was named 2014-15 Academic All-American of the Year for NCAA D1 sports. A two-time first-team Academic All-American, Brown held a 3.97 GPA in his chosen majors of criminology and international politics when this honor was given.

?Matt Brown is an outstanding example of what a student-athlete is,? Penn State wrestling coach Cael Sanderson said in a press release. ?He epitomizes hard work, dedication, responsibility and the ?One Team? attitude we strive for here at Penn State.?

Big congrats to Brown and his fellow Big Ten student-athletes from BTN LiveBIG!
