D.J. Durkin was named the 36th head football coach in Maryland history on Wednesday afternoon.

Durkin, 37, will be introduced as the Terrapins' new head coach today at 11 a.m. ET (10 a.m. CT) on BTN/BTN2Go.

A first-time head coach, Durkin served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at the University of Michigan this season. The Wolverines ranked No. 1 in the Big Ten in total defense (259.0 ypg) and No. 3 in scoring defense (15.0 ppg).
