The Big Ten office released its weekly Big Ten men's basketball honors on Monday, and freshly minted John Wooden Legacy champ Michigan State swept the laurels.

Player of the Week: Denzel Valentine, Michigan State, G - Sr. - 6-5 - Lansing, Mich. - Sexton

  • Averaged 22.5 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game in leading the Spartans to four wins
  • Claimed Most Valuable Player honors at the Wooden Legacy, guiding Michigan State to the tournament title
  • For the week, shot 51.9 percent (28-of-54) from the field and 50 percent (17-of-34) from three-point range
  • Recorded his second-career triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists against Boston College, as Michigan State head coach Tom Izzo collected his 500th career win
  • Poured in a career-high 32 points, including seven three-pointers, pulled down nine rebounds and handed out six assists versus Boise State
  • Earns his second career Big Ten Player of the Week honor and second in as many weeks

Freshman of the Week: Deyonta Davis, Michigan State, F - 6-10 - Muskegon, Mich. - Muskegon

  • Averaged 12.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game in Michigan State?s 4-0 week, including the Wooden Legacy Championship
  • For the week, shot 80.0 percent (24-of-30) from the floor and totaled seven blocks
  • Scored 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting and recorded five blocks against Eastern Michigan
  • Chipped in 10 points on 5-of-5 shooting versus Boston College
  • Scored 12 points each against Boise State and Providence
  • Earns his first Freshman of the Week honor
