A grassroots push to get ESPN?s ?College GameDay? to Bloomington for Indiana?s Big Ten opener vs. Ohio State has begun.

First, the Hoosiers must win at Wake Forest this Saturday. If that happens, Indiana may have a shot-albeit a tiny one–to be epicenter of the college grid world for one day. And that would be amazing.

The Big Ten has said it wants member schools to play at least one foe from a Power Five league each year. Cool. And, it turns out, some teams not in Power Five leagues would qualify as being ?Power Five.? Confused? Don?t fret.

Schools like BYU, UConn, Cincinnati and Notre Dame are such schools. As is ? Army? Yes, Army.

It?s Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015, and Ohio State STILL doesn?t know who its quarterback is.

Cleveland.com says Urban Meyer is scheduled to meet with the media Wednesday evening, and at that time he anticipates revealing who's going to start Saturday vs. Western Michigan. I can?t imagine that this is a difficult decision, is it? I mean, c?mon: It?s got to be J.T. Barrett, right?

Purdue knows who its quarterback will be when Bowling Green rolls into West La-La. And, it won?t be Austin Appleby. It?ll be redshirt freshman David Blough. To that, Boilermaker fans shouted: ?Alleluia!?

Is Blough the answer? Who knows? But Appleby certainly isn?t. That?s why Darrell Hazell had to make this switch-his third in-season QB swap in three seasons. Not. Good. Purdue had to do something to spark a team that is threatening to careen out of a control. Can you say ?a 1-7 start is possible?? The Boilers have absolutely nothing to lose by switching QBs. And, they may catch lighting in a bottle.

"This is not a panic move," Hazell said. "This is a move based on our base philosophy that we're not going to turn the ball over. Period. That's what it's based off of. We're not panicking inside our walls. ?

"The whole decision was driven by the one thing we preach all the time: Taking care of the football. To be honest with our football team, I've got to make sure we live up to that and govern ourselves, so that's why I made the decision, we made the decision."

More QB stuff: Dan Duggan of NJ.com is baffled as to why Rutgers won?t take a look at Hayden Rettig! C?mon!

How about this freshman running back at Penn State named Saquon Barkley? Pretty good. So good, in fact, he may force Nittany Lions defense back to the drawing board when it comes to defending PSU?s attack.

Pennlive.com says playing an eight-man front with the corners in "man" against Barkley means you run the risk of giving up the big play if he finds a small crease or a defender coming free can't put him down.

The great Pat Forde has another edition of his ?Forde Yard Dash.? He takes a look at college football?s most over- and under-paid coaches. You will enjoy.

Bad news for Michigan State hoops: Marvin Clark is out 6-8 weeks with a foot injury.

Entering this season, Mlive.com says Clark was expected to compete for the Spartans' starting power forward job, along with freshman Deyonta Davis. This marks the second straight year a Michigan State player has suffered a preseason foot injury. Last season, forward Javon Bess injured his foot in the preseason and missed the first 10 games of the year. He returned to play 12 games, but was shut down in February after the foot had not properly healed.

Ever since that flat effort in the opener at Utah, the Michigan offensive line has emerged. Good thing. Because, without a power run game, this attack will not go.

"The offensive line is improving, the offensive line is getting better and probably the guy who made the biggest jump was Kyle Kalis," Jim Harbaugh said earlier this week. "He graded out for the ballgame at 90 percent, a little above 90 percent. Along with Graham Glasgow who has been consistently very good, he's been our best.

"But Kalis is ascending fast, and it was great to see that. … Ben Braden's playing better, still has work to do, but he's improving as well."

There is one thing you can say about Nebraska coach Mike Riley: He is as cool as a cucumber. And, his players can learn from that placid demeanor.

Tom Shatel of Omaha.com says here?s a coach who knows how to handle a loss, knows you don?t panic, knows it?s not the end of tailgating as we know it. A little perspective by the head coach can go a long way toward managing the emotions around this program and avoiding snowballs and avalanches. How would Bo Pelini have handled the BYU and Miami losses? Hmmmm.
