"We are going to make a quarterback change," Hazell said to open his weekly press conference, "and that is going to happen this week."

Purdue (1-2), coming off a 51-24 loss vs. Virginia Tech, hosts Bowling Green at noon ET Saturday on BTN/BTN2Go.

"I know that the guys will be ready to adjust," Hazell said. "There's still a great energy with our football team right now."

Blough, a redshirt freshman, has completed 3-of-8 passes for 11 passes in limited duty the last two weeks. Appleby, who started the first three games, threw for 669 yards and five touchdowns, to go along with six interceptions, including a pair of pick-6s in the season-opening loss at Marshall.
