BTN Communications, September 22, 2015

After a season that produced seven NCAA Tournament berths for Big Ten teams along with Maryland?s trip to the Final Four, BTN?s 2015-16 women?s basketball coverage on-air and online will feature more than 160 games. The slate includes games from the Big Ten/ACC Women?s Basketball Challenge, non-conference schedule, conference play and nearly the entire women?s Big Ten Tournament, March 2-5.

BTN?s coverage tips off in early December with the Big Ten/ACC Women?s Basketball Challenge. Syracuse takes on national powerhouse Maryland at 7 p.m. ET on Dec. 2, while Purdue battles Boston College and Penn State matches up with Virginia Tech the following night on Dec. 3. The conference slate begins on New Year?s Eve, when Michigan State travels to Columbus to take on the Buckeyes at Noon ET.

On Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. ET, Rutgers Hall of Fame Coach C. Vivian Stringer returns to Iowa for her first Big Ten Conference game in Iowa City after a 12-year stint as the Hawkeyes head coach. Also included in the conference schedule are five wildcard games that will be selected at a later date in order to ensure the most compelling matchups heading down the final stretch of the season. The season on BTN rounds out with 12 women?s Big Ten Women?s Basketball Tournament games.

The Big Ten is home to some of the premiere talent in all of college basketball, led by Ohio State sophomore Kelsey Mitchell. Mitchell was the coaches? selection for Big Ten Player of the Year as a freshman, averaging 24.5 points per game. Michigan State junior Aerial Powers earned first team All-Big Ten honors for the second-straight season in 2014-15, and is coming off of a 27-point performance in the gold medal final of the World University Games in South Korea. Maryland junior center Brionna Jones, also a first-team selection, helped lead the Terrapins to an 18-0 conference record en route to a second-consecutive Final Four.

Throughout the season, additional games will be added to the schedule. All on-air games can be streamed via the web, smartphones, tablets and connected devices on BTN2Go, BTN?s digital extension. More than 100 additional games will also be streamed on BTN Plus on BTN2Go, and many of those will air on delay on BTN as part of the Student U initiative.

BTN?s women?s basketball coverage also includes highlights and analysis on BTN Women?s Sports Report, which airs on Mondays throughout the season at 10 ET.
