Former Iowa defensive back Brett Greenwood will serve as an honorary captain, in addition to being in the locker room with the team before and after the game. Greenwood, who led the Big Ten in interceptions (5) as a senior in 2010, collapsed during a workout in 2011 and was in a coma as a result of suffering an anoxic brain injury caused by heart arrhythmia.

"Progress continues every day, so we feel pretty happy about it," said Dave Greenwood, Brett's father.

Greenwood, a second team All-Big Ten honoree his junior and senior seasons, served as the honorary captain at his high school alma mater Pleasant Valley's game last week, along with former Iowa teammate and friend Pat Angerer.

"He was always a guy that you knew he was going to be tough and he was going to bring it," Angerer said. "You always had respect for him.

"I'm probably the biggest Brett Greenwood fan there is."
