No. 6 Michigan State got revenge on No. 5 Oregon in a 31-28 victory Saturday night to highlight the Big Ten's three prime-time matchups.

The Ducks took down the Spartans last season in Eugene, Oregon, en route to advancing to the inaugural College Football Playoff.

In other action under the lights, Indiana held off Florida International, 36-22, and Nebraska blew away South Alabama, 48-9.

On Saturday night, the Indiana defense finally showed the fans what its capable of doing – causing havoc on opponents. After forcing two turnovers and producing two sacks, freshman Jameel Cook Jr. took advantage of the pressure his teammates applied on FIU quarterback Alex McGough by picking off a fourth-and-goal pass and sprinting 96 yards to seal a 36-22 victory.

Terrell Newby ran for a career-high 198 yards and scored three touchdowns, leading Nebraska past South Alabama 48-9 on Saturday night and giving Mike Riley his first win as the Cornhuskers' coach. The Huskers (1-1) bounced back from last week's loss to BYU on a Hail Mary with a resounding victory over their opponent from the Sun Belt Conference. South Alabama (1-1), in its third year as a Football Bowl Subdivision program, dropped to 0-7 all-time against teams from the Power Five conferences.

MICHIGAN STATE 31, OREGON 28: BOX | PBP | RECAP | VIDEO
Connor Cook threw for two touchdowns, and No. 5 Michigan State held on with one final defensive stand to beat No. 7 Oregon 31-28 on Saturday night in college football's marquee game of the week. The Spartans (2-0) led for most of the second half, and it was 31-21 before Oregon's Vernon Adams threw a 15-yard touchdown pass to Byron Marshall with 3:25 remaining. After a Michigan State punt, the Ducks (1-1) drove to the Spartans 33 before Adams overthrew Marshall, who had beaten his defender.
