Not only did Sports Illustrated put Ohio State on one of its four regional college football covers, it ranked the reigning national champ No. 1 in its preseason top 25 poll.

The Buckeyes, who also topped the preseason Amway Coaches Poll, beat out Auburn for the top spot in the poll, released Wednesday. TCU, Notre Dame and Alabama round out the top 5.

Michigan State lands at No. 7, and Wisconsin at No. 24 to account for the publication's ranked Big Ten teams.
