Take the interim tag off Michigan A.D. Jim Hackett. Hey, why would he want to leave just when things appear ready to get really good with Jim Harbaugh on board? Exactly.

"I've got to get my arms around it, but I'm not there yet," he said. "It's working so why mess with it?"

To help Hackett, the Wolverines added a former longtime major college athletic director in former Oregon State AD Bob De Carolis, who will be a senior advisor. Smart move.

Not good news at Michigan State, which has suspended Eron Harris after an arrest.

Omaha.com is counting down the Top 50 Nebraska players for 2015. Pick it up with No. 42, QB AJ Bush, a spring star who appears to have a bright future.

Omaha.com says Bush is an intriguing talent, both with his arm and with his potential in the run game. The difference in experience between starter Tommy Armstrong and Bush, however, is quite large. That was apparent for me and others in the Husker spring game. Bush isn?t ready ? yet.

Minnesota football season ticket sales are slightly down after a scholarship seating (read, seat license) increase.

The St. Paul Pioneer-Press says Minnesota athletics director Norwood Teague revealed a plan Dec. 2 last year to increase scholarship seating donations at TCF Bank Stadium for the next three seasons. The seating program is expected to support the Gophers? operating budget and help with upcoming payments to athletes for the full cost of attendance. Total season tickets sold for football is at 27,523 as of today, compared to 27,786 on July 1 last year. That?s a difference of just 263 tickets. In 2013, the Gophers sold 27,741 tickets by July 1.

How about attaching Lou Henson?s name to the court at the State Farm Center? Bob Asmussen of the Champaign News-Gazette is for it. And, so I am. In fact, it?s a bit of a surprise it hasn?t happened already. Naming the hardwood for the all-time winningest coach in school annals makes too much sense.

Purdue fans surely remember plucky hoopster Chris Kramer. Well, he?s making a living playing basketball-in Germany.

?If people aren't telling you your dreams are crazy or your dreams are too lofty, then I say your dreams aren't big enough,? Kramer told the Fort Wayne News-Sentinel. ?Shoot for the stars and if you land in the clouds you'll still be pretty successful.

?My dream was to play in the NBA, but I'm playing overseas. I don't see that as a failure. It's not what I was shooting for, but I'm able to see the world and play the game I love.?
