Maryland and Virginia return to action at 3 pm ET Saturday for Game 2 of the three-game Super Regional series on ESPNU.

The Cavalier offense could do little against the pitching of Shawaryn, before scoring five runs in the eighth inning upon his relief from the game.

Virginia?s offense awoke by stringing together five hits, including a bases loaded 3-RBI double by Kevin Doherty that was nearly caught on a spectacular sprawling effort by the centerfielder LaMonte Wade.

The Terps threatened to come back in the bottom of the eighth after Kevin Smith opened the inning by reaching second base, but they could not muster the comeback.

Wade finished the game with two RBIs, while Cuas scored a pair of runs to lead Maryland offensively.
