The Big Ten had a league-record five baseball teams selected Monday for the 2015 NCAA baseball tournament, led by overall No. 6 seed Illinois. Big Ten tournament champion Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, and Maryland also landed spots.

lllinois was selected as one of 16 teams to host a regional and earned the No. 6 overall seed, the highest in school history. Illinois is the No. 1 seed in the Champaign Regional and opens the NCAA Tournament against fourth-seeded Ohio at 8 p.m. ET on Friday on ESPN3. With a win, the Fighting Illini would face the winner of third-seeded Wright State and second-seeded Notre Dame. The Fighting Illini are making their 11th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history, and first since 2013.

In the Springfield Regional, Iowa earned a No. 2 seed and will face third-seeded Oregon at 1 p.m. ET Friday on ESPN3. The winner will advance to take on either top-seeded Missouri State or fourth-seeded Canisius. The Hawkeyes are making their fourth NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 1990.

In the Nashville Regional, Indiana drew the No. 3 seed and opens tournament action against second-seeded Radford at 3 p.m. ET Friday on ESPN3. The winner will face top-seeded Vanderbilt or fourth-seeded Lipscomb. The Hoosiers are making their third consecutive NCAA appearance and sixth in program history.

In the Los Angeles Regional, Maryland is the No. 3 seed and will take on second-seeded Ole Miss at 7 p.m. ET Friday on ESPN3. UCLA is the top seed, and will host CSU Bakersfield. The Terrapins return to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time in program history and for the second consecutive season. The Terrapins are coming off a Super Regional appearance in 2014.

Michigan earned the conference?s automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament after winning the Big Ten Tournament Championship. The Wolverines drew the No. 3 seed in the Fullerton Regional, and will face second-seeded Bradley at 2 p.m. ET Friday on ESPN3. The winner will advance to face either top-seeded Louisville or fourth-seeded Morehead State. Michigan enters its 22nd NCAA Championship and first appearance since 2008.

Each of the 16 regionals features four teams, playing a double-elimination format. The regionals are scheduled to be conducted from Friday, May 29, to Monday, June 1 (if necessary). Selection of the eight super regional hosts will be announced at approximately 11 p.m. ET June 1.

The 69th Men?s College World Series begins play Saturday, June 13, at the TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Neb.
