One of the more impressive recent Big Ten streaks came to an end early Friday morning.

With its 2-1 loss to Maryland in the second day of the Big Ten baseball tournament, Illinois had its Big Ten-record 27-game winning streak snapped.

The streak started at 4:21 p.m. ET March 30, following the final out of a 13-9 win at Michigan State, and it lasted until 1:42 a.m. ET May 22, when Maryland closed out the Illini.
