Looks like Michigan State is talking to Florida about playing some hoops. This is good news.

Mlive.com points out that the two schools have met six times, including in the 2000 national championship game-when MSU won the Big Ten?s last title. Each team has won three times, including the Gators taking the last matchup in 2009. Who will be coaching the Gators?

OK, Penn State A.D. Sandy Barbour offers her take on satellite camps. And, I like it. She says everyone should be able to do them ? or no one should.

She also recently went on to say: "From my perspective, it's legal from an NCAA standpoint," Barbour said. "It gives our coaches an opportunity to go out and represent our institution, which benefits the institution and certainly benefits us from a recruiting standpoint and from the standpoint of our football program. What could be wrong with that?"

Remember when Jim Harbaugh invited coaches from around America to attend Michigan camps? Sure you do. I loved the ?gesture.? And so does Penn State?s James Franklin, who said as much recently on Sirius XM.

"I love it. I do. We?re having some fun in the Big Ten,? Franklin said. ?This is going to be a really competitive conference. It?s amazing, think about the conversations that were going on about the Big Ten a year ago, and now, a year later, it?s 180-degree turn, specifically (in the Big Ten East).

?I?m excited about (Harbaugh). I love competition. I think it?s good for Penn State. I think it?s good for the Big Ten. I think it?s great for college football. I?m fired up about it.?

From the ?it?s never too early? department, ESPN.com has projected bowl landing spots-yes, even the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl matchup–for the 2016 season. God bless Mark Schlabach and Brett McMurphy.

Keith Sargeant of NJ.com has a nice look at which Rutgers players could go in the 2016 NFL draft.

Leontee Carroo, Darius Hamilton and Keith Lumpkin all should be picked, right?

Speaking of Rutgers, there seems to be a movement afoot to alter its Scarlet Knights mascot.

Steve Politi of NJ.com writes that a bill passed by the Rutgers student assembly has called for more gender and ethnic diversity in the mascot costume, according to a report in The Daily Targum. This is how Emmet Brennan, the assembly's parliamentarian, explained it to the student newspaper:

"What we were thinking - the way the bill's laid out - it's not defined that we need an Asian knight, a black knight, a Latino knight. That we would really leave it up to the different student organizations … and basically the whole student body as a whole to determine how many knights they'd like and what these knights would represent."

Excuse me while I pick my jaw up off the floor. Carry on.

Good video here from CineSport that looks at if MSU can keep its glorious grid fortunes going with Ohio State and Michigan seemingly having so much going for them.

Sam McKewon of Omaha.com writes that former Nebraska DE Randy Gregory will be under the microscope with the Cowboys after arriving in the league with something to prove after a failed drug test at the Combine.

I wonder why Gregory fell out of the first round to the second, but Missouri DE Shane Ray remained in the first round after an arrest for marijuana days before the draft. Talk about dubious decision making. Yet, Denver felt comfortable still taking Ray with a top pick. Let?s track and compare Ray and Gregory over the next two-three years.

Minneapolis will bid on the 2020 college football championship game. Gosh, I hope the city gets it.

The Star Tribune story says the bid will require an $8-12 million fundraising effort, said Scot Housh, co-chairman of the campaign and the President and CEO of Willis of Minnesota, Inc. The cost of this particular bid, he said, is roughly equivalent to that of the 2019 Final Four the city secured in November.

Looks like the Seahawks are getting some heat for drafting ex-Michigan DE Frank Clark. Good.

Turns out Seattle never bothered to interview witnesses or the girl Clark beat up. How could Seattle have overlooked those folks? (Sarcasm) What will come of this? Tragically, probably nothing. The story will burn bright for a few days or so, and then fade away. Seattle in its own perverse way justified its behavior and got its pass rusher-and that?s all it really cares about. (Sic 'em, Frank!) Now, go about your business, America. Nothing to see here.
