Maryland, Northwestern, Ohio State and Penn State were selected to the 2105 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament, it was announced Sunday night.

Maryland, the Big Ten regular-season champion, earned the No. 1 overall seed and an opening-round bye. The Terrapins (17-1), the reigning national champ, will host the winner of Friday?s Massachusetts-Jacksonville game in the second round on Sunday.

Northwestern claimed the No. 8 seed and will host Louisville on Friday. The Wildcats head into the NCAA Tournament with a 12-6 overall record, including a 12-10 victory over Louisville on March 29.

Ohio State will also play at Northwestern?s Lakeside Field, and take on Notre Dame in the opening round on Friday. The Buckeyes are 13-7 on the season, and made a run to the championship game of the Big Ten Tournament.

Penn State earned the Big Ten?s automatic berth to the NCAA Championship after claiming the Big Ten Tournament title. The Nittany Lions, who have won nine of their last 10 games, will take on Johns Hopkins on Friday in Charlottesville, Va.

The winners of the four quarterfinal games will advance to the semifinals and final hosted by Saint Joseph?s University May 22 and 24 at PPL Park in Philadelphia.
