Former Nebraska star Alex Gordon is a regular when it comes to making the jaw-dropping defensive play.

The Kansas City Royals' four-time Gold Glove winner, Gordon is considered by many to be the game's best defensive left fielder. He bolstered his case with a must-see play in Sunday's loss at Chicago.

On a fly ball slicing down the left-field foul line, Gordon, running full speed, jumped into the stands to steal a would-be souvenir.

"No way!" the Kansas City play-by-play announcer said in amazement.

"What?!" the color commentator exclaimed.

Gordon, who collided with a fan and ended up a couple rows deep, was OK, as were the fans.

We're only a few weeks into the season, but it isn't hyperbole to say this may go down as the catch of the year. Worst case, it's a highlight fans will see replays of for the rest of their lives. Kind of like this Derek Jeter play.

The former Nebraska third baseman made an earlier highlight in the field and hit a two-run home run, for good measure.
