Ohio State currently sits in first place after the opening day of the 2015 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships.

Ohio State tallied 23 points, two points ahead of second-place Iowa.

Penn State sits in fourth place with 18.5 points, while Nebraska rounds out the Top 5 teams with 18 total points.

Five Ohio State wrestlers advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Championships. Three-time national champion Logan Stieber won by a technical fall and pin, while Big Ten champion Nathan Tomasello, redshirt freshman Bo Jordan, redshirt junior Kenny Courts and true freshman Kyle Snyder all went 2-0 in the championship bracket.

Iowa also advanced five wrestlers to Friday's quarterfinal round. Thomas Gilman (125), Cory Clark (133), Mike Evans (174), Sammy Brooks (184), and Nathan Burak (197) moved on and will wrestle for semifinal berths.

The action will get underway on Friday morning at 9 a.m. ET.
