Maryland is cruising. The Terrapins (17-2, 5-1) sit atop the Big Ten standings, one-half game ahead of a trio of teams, and two of their stars have reentered my latest Big Ten Player Rankings.

Check out my full players rankings below.

1. Frank Kaminsky, Wisconsin. The early favorite to win the John Wooden Award, Kaminsky scored 22 points, hitting 4-of-5 from behind the arc, in his return from a concussion to lead the Badgers past Nebraska. It?s rare to watch a 7-footer block a shot at one end, dribble the ball up the court and then throw the perfect lob to a teammate for the slam. Watch the highlight above.

2. Terran Petteway, Nebraska. Petteway looked like a player of the year candidate in the first half at Wisconsin, scoring 20 points. But he and the Cornhuskers ran out of energy against the talented Badgers.

3. D.J. Newbill, Penn State. Newbill torched Purdue for 37 points, but the Nittany Lions continue to struggle late in games and are an unacceptable 0-5 in league play after finishing off its best nonconference season.

5. D'Angelo Russell, Ohio State. Russell rarely ceased to amaze this week. After scoring 21 points in a blowout over Michigan, he poured in 27 points and a career-high 14 rebounds in a loss at Iowa. He also threw the most unique screw ball pass you?ll ever witness. Watch the pass below.

6. Branden Dawson, Michigan State. The 14-point, 10-rebound effort at Maryland is impressive, but the Spartans couldn?t hit any shots. Dawson leads the Big Ten with a staggering 11.6 boards a game in conference play.

7. Melo Trimble, Maryland. Trimble scored 21 first-half points against Michigan State in the marquee game of the weekend. He found his shooting touch with six 3-pointers and Big Ten leading Maryland continues to live at the free-throw line, converting 20-22.

8. Yogi Ferrell, Indiana. One night, it?s the scoring of freshman sensations Robert Johnson and James Blackmon Jr. leading the Hoosiers. The next, it?s the athleticism of Troy Williams carrying Indiana. But the straw that stirs the cup is still Ferrell, who made the big plays at both ends of the court down the stretch to keep Indiana near the top the conference race this week.

9. Jake Layman, Maryland. Layman exploded for 23 points and 12 rebounds in a rout against Michigan State. Would you have guessed that Layman is also the second-leading rebounder in league play, at 8.7 per game?

10. Sam Dekker, Wisconsin. Dekker is averaging 13 points and 5.8 rebounds in conference play, and he will need that and more with the long front line of Iowa rolling into Madison Tuesday.
