Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon has been named the winner of the 2014 Tribune Silver Football, which is awarded annually to the best player in the Big Ten. The award is determined by a vote of the coaches throughout the conference.

Gordon rushed for an FBS-high 2,236 yards and 26 touchdowns this season. He received 10 of a possible 13 first-place votes (coaches cannot vote for their own players). Ohio State's J.T. Barrett came in second, while teammate Joey Bosa took third.
