Michigan State?s loss to Ohio State likely killed any shot the Big Ten has to earn a playoff spot. Yes, the Buckeyes could get it in, but it will take a lot for that to happen.

For now, I have Ohio State and Wisconsin in a ?New Year?s Day? bowl. Also, the bowl hopes for Northwestern are on life support. Ditto Indiana. Purdue has been eliminated.

But I have slotted Michigan into this week?s projections. The Wolverines need to win one of their final two games (vs. Maryland; at Ohio State) to become bowl eligible.

Here?s a look at my latest projections, which feature 10 Big Ten squads.

Cotton: Ohio State vs. TCU
Fiesta: Wisconsin vs. Arizona State
Citrus: Michigan State vs. Ole Miss
Outback: Nebraska vs. Texas A&M
Holiday: Minnesota vs. USC
TaxSlayer: Maryland vs. Florida
San Francisco: Iowa vs. UCLA
New Era Pinstripe: Penn State vs. Georgia Tech
Quick Lane: Michigan vs. Boston College
Heart of Dallas: Rutgers vs. Rice
