Iowa linebacker Reggie Spearman was cited for an alcohol related offense early Saturday morning and will face a suspension, announced head coach Kirk Ferentz on Saturday.

?I was disappointed to hear of the charges against Reggie,? said Ferentz. ?Reggie will face a minimum one game suspension, as well as other consequences within the program. We will work with authorities in gathering all the facts. Reggie will go through the UI Student Athlete Code of Conduct process and we will move forward from there.?

Iowa, which is off this week, hosts Northwestern on Nov. 1.

Spearman, a native of Chicago, is a sophomore linebacker. He has started all seven games to date, recording 34 tackles.
