Maryland backup quarterback Caleb Rowe didn't get much time to warm up in relief of an injured C.J. Brown on a rainy Saturday, but he sure looked good. Late in the second quarter, after Brown lost his helmet on a brutal hit and left the game, Rowe came in and completed a pass on his first snap.

It got better. Moments later, he tossed a touchdown pass to Jacquille Veii with 40 seconds left in the second quarter to cut the West Virginia lead to 28-20.
