The NFL announced its Week 1 superlative winners Wednesday, and former Big Ten stars swept the defensive honors. Miami's Cameron Wake (Penn State) and Detroit's DeAndre Levy (Wisconsin) took home the AFC and NFC Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

Wake registered a pair of sacks, including a sack-fumble, and three tackles in Miami's 33-20 win over New England, while Levy had a game-high 10 tackles, including two for a loss, and an interception in Detroit's 35-14 win over the New York Giants.
