There were familiar teams at the top of the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday, as the Wisconsin men and Penn State women defended their 2013 crowns. For the Wisconsin men, it's three titles in a row and 26 overall. BTN will air tape-delay coverage of the championships at 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 25.
WISCONSIN MEN TAKE THIRD STRAIGHT B1G TITLE
Wisconsin claimed the 2014 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday at Rankin Track & Field in West Lafayette, Ind. The Badgers posted three individual crowns en route to their third straight title and 26th overall. Wisconsin becomes the first team to win three consecutive conference championships since the Badgers won four in a row from 2004-07.
Wisconsin totaled 121 points to claim the championship, while Illinois (109 points) and Nebraska (106 points) came in second and third, respectively. Ohio State finished in fourth place with 80 points, while Purdue rounded out the top five with 79 points.
The Badgers picked up first-place finishes from Mohammed Ahmed (5,000-meter run), Reed Connor (10,000-meter run) and Zach Ziemek (pentathlon). Wisconsin claimed the top three spots in both the 5,000- and 10,000-meter runs, as Connor and Malachy Schrobilgen followed Ahmed in the 5,000-meters and Ahmed and VanVoorhis finished behind Connor in the 10,000-meters.

PENN STATE WOMEN DEFEND B1G CROWN, TOO
The Penn State women?s team won the 2014 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Sunday at Rankin Track & Field in West Lafayette, Ind. The Nittany Lions posted four individual crowns and one relay title to claim the championship. The championship marks Penn State?s second consecutive and fifth in the last seven years.
Penn State totaled 136 points en route to the championship, while Nebraska (102.5 points) and Purdue (89 points) came in second and third, respectively. Iowa and Michigan finished tied for fourth place with 86 points.
The Nittany Lions picked up first-place finishes from Brittney Howell (heptathlon), Melissa Kurzdorfer (hammer throw), Mahagony Jones (200-meter dash), Kiah Seymour (400-meter hurdles) and the 4×400-meter relay team made up of Jones, Seymour, Dynasty McGee and Tichina Rhoades.
