It’s mid-May, so why not consider some ridiculously super-early bowl projections? That’s what and BTN contributor Jerry Palm decided to do. Palm released his bowl projections Friday, and he has Ohio State in the inaugural College Football Playoff, playing reigning national champ Florida State. In all, Palm forecasts seven Big Ten bowl teams. See his projections in this post.

Rose (national semifinal): Ohio State vs. Florida State
Fiesta: Wisconsin vs. Oregon
TaxSlayer: Iowa vs. Ole Miss
Outback: Michigan vs. Georgia
Capital One: Michigan State vs. LSU
Holiday: Nebraska vs. USC
Fight Hunger: Minnesota vs. Oregon State

Call me biased, but I think the Big Ten will have eight bowl teams, with the extra team being Indiana or Northwestern. Or, maybe Maryland — if it can navigate its grueling schedule. It’s hard to see more than eight, though.

I don’t know how that bowl outcome is possible, considering the Spartans look to go 8-0 in league play this season.

The Illini are going to come on this year!

What about when Penn State has their bowl ban removed after the review hearings in August?

Scott……that’s funny stuff right there. Sparty going 8-0 when they have to rebuild there whole defense, I’m on board for that prediction……….NOT

Revival Begins on 5/16/2014 @ 11:37pm EDT Said:

you ain’t fooling anyone, Scott. Nebraska keeps making your defense look like a flag football team each year. loss. Ohio State doesn’t lose back-to-back games to Big Ten foes. loss. Oregon has an elite dual threat QB that will make you pay if you don’t respect his passing game. loss. you’re a paper tiger next year and everyone knows it. you’re gonna be too complacent from the Rose Bowl win and take you’re gonna take an improved Big Ten for granted

SPARTY ON!!! MSU wailed on OSU in the B10 Championship game and has most of it’s team returning. Sounds like some OSU bias as MSU will be roasting Buckeyes again!

Sparty had a dream season last year. Kudos to them. Now back to reality.

Aggies can dream all they want. They will be lucky to break even in 2014 !

Doug on 5/18/2014 @ 6:55pm EDT Said:

hey big fan, your obsession with MSU is a nice compliment, but worry about your team, it’s brady hoke’s last year for crying out loud ! and a nebraska fan trying to talk smack?? you guys haven’t done anything in the big ten, i thought you were going to win it every year LOL Dantonio will not let MSU be complacent, are you serious? MSU is gonna put up 40 + on that weak nebraska defense, again

Jim on 5/19/2014 @ 3:32pm EDT Said:

This is a bit silly. What differences does it make now. I hope the Big Ten net work is NOT going down the same path as ESPN. Creating news from nonsense.

Harry on 5/19/2014 @ 5:13pm EDT Said:

Interesting thought but there is a lot of football to be played before we get there.

As a Buckeye for life, I like the prediction, however, I am cautiously optimistic for our team this year, especially with having to replace almost the entire O line.

Yes, we are loaded with talent but that is a lot of experience to replace.

Hey Revival, how did Nebraska do last season against MSU? Yeah that’s what I thought. You want to bash States defense. Worry about your own defense. I see MSU putting up another 40 spot on Nebraska.
