CHICAGO - BTN President Mark Silverman announced today that Mark Hulsey has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Production/Executive Producer. Hulsey joined BTN in 2009 as Vice President of Production/Executive Producer after nine years at FOX Sports Midwest.

?Since joining BTN to lead our Production, Operations and Engineering departments, Mark has played a pivotal role in helping us grow into the leading college sports network,? Silverman said. ?His understanding of how to keep moving BTN forward in production quality, use of technology and marketplace credibility while maintaining fiscal responsibility has contributed greatly to our success as a network.?

Hulsey has overseen the significant growth in the network?s live-event and studio production as well as original programming for the network, which has won or been nominated for numerous awards, including an Edward R. Murrow award and a National Sports Emmy. BTN now produces over 1,000 events and more than 320 hours of studio shows each year, and is expanding coverage of the University of Maryland and Rutgers University as the two universities join the Big Ten Conference on July 1.

He also has overseen the utilization of BTN?s mini-studios at all Big Ten campuses, including those being built at Maryland and Rutgers. The studios are used to conduct interviews with coaches, student athletes and other university leaders.

?I?m extremely fortunate to lead a team of talented, hard-working and dedicated professionals who take a great deal of pride in their work,? Hulsey said. ?As a network, we are poised for growth.?

As the executive producer for FOX Sports Midwest/FOX Sports Indiana/FOX Sports Kansas City, Hulsey led a production team responsible for annually producing more than 450 live events, pre- and post-game coverage and specials for seven universities and professional sports teams in a six-state region. During Hulsey?s tenure, FOX Sports Midwest won multiple Emmy awards for best Live Event Special for coverage of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues.

Hulsey earned a bachelor?s degree in film studies from the University of Kansas.
