Penn State stuns Michigan in B1G Hockey Tourney

Penn State freshman Zach Saar scored the game-winning goal in double-overtime to lift the Nittany Lions to a 2-1 win over Michigan in the opening game of the 2014 Big Ten Men’s Hockey Tournament. Taylor Holmstrom added a goal and sophomore goalie Matthew Skoff had 52 saves for Penn State.

Phil Di Giuseppe had the lone goal for Michigan, while freshman goalie Zach Nagelvoort added 63 saves.

this is nothing against p. st. but this game never should of been this close, or gone into OT. I thk its time for red Berenson to step aside and let someone with some drive and passion take over this team. I hate to say this but Red just doesn’t get this tm ready for the big gms. And they lost some gms during the reg. sea. that they never shd. had lost. Now with this most recent loss, that’s 2 yrs in a row he hasn’t gotten them to the ncaa tourney. I thk its time Red hangs up the skates…
