Iowa to wear shirts in support of Fran McCaffery's son
The Iowa Hawkeyes will be wearing pregame shooting shirts with “P-Mac” printed across the front in honor of head coach Frank McCaffery’s son, Patrick, who was recently diagnosed with a thyroid tumor. McCaffery said that the tumor was discovered last week and that a surgery has been scheduled for next week. It has not yet been determined if the tumor is cancerous.
On the back of the shirt, #teampat is written across the name plate with the No. 22.
Fran McCaffery and his wife, Margaret, have four children: Connor, Patrick, Jonathan and Marit.
