Is Nebraska on NCAA bubble? We asked Jerry Palm’s Jerry Palm joined Tuesday night’s “Big Ten Finale” to give his latest thoughts on the Big Ten’s NCAA bubble teams, most notably Nebraska. The Huskers, fresh off Sunday’s stunning upset at then-No. 9 Michigan State, have won five of six and have a manageable schedule remaining.

“They’ve gotten hot,” Palm said. “Now, they have to stay hot.”

Nebraska is 14-10 overall, including 6-6 in the Big Ten, and Palm said four games over .500 is the “bare minimum” to get into the field.

Another thing working against Nebraska, according to Palm, is its three bad losses (UAB; at Purdue; at Penn State).

“They’re going to have to win five in a row,” Palm said, “because they really can’t afford a fourth bad loss.”

As for Minnesota, Palm said: “This is a team that really just needs to finish strong.”

Can quite sure how a record of 19-10 would in any way get them into the NCAA tournament.

@theotherbigone Minnesota got in with a 20-12 record last year

I think with 21 wins–either six more to close out the season and 1 in the B1G tourney, or 5 of 6 and 2–would be a lock to make the dance.

20 wins would PROBABLY do it.

Less than 20, my bet would be NIT, here we come.

It’s tough. No real room for error, but the way they’ve been playing it’s at least a possibility. Oh if they could have that UAB game back.

Here’s the thing: The fact that a loss at Purdue (which has a much, much stronger B-Ball history than Nebraska ever dreamed of having) is just NOW being considered a “bad” loss should tell you how many (Tim) Miles Nebraska has come this season…..

They have to at least win 5 of the last 6 and probably a game in the Big Ten Tournament to get in…..
