The Big Ten office released its weekly Big Ten Men's Basketball Players of the Week on Monday, and Ohio State's Aaron Craft (Player of the Week) and Wisconsin's Nigel Hayes (Freshman of the Week) took home the latest hardware. Read more about both players in this post.

Player of the Week: Aaron Craft, Ohio State, G - Sr. - 6-2

  • Averaged 12.0 points, 5.0 assists, 4.5 steals and 3.0 rebounds per game in leading -/#25 Ohio State to a pair of Big Ten wins over #17/15 Iowa and Purdue
  • For the week, shot 64.3 percent (9-of-14) from the field and 50.0 percent (2-of-4) from three-point range
  • In the road win at Iowa, scored a game-high 17 points on 6-of-7 shooting, swiped six steals, handed out six assists and pulled down three rebounds in 39 minutes
  • Became the first Big Ten player since Michigan State?s Charlie Bell in 2001 to score 17 points, dish out six assists and swipe six steals in a single game
  • Chipped in seven points, handed out four assists, tallied three steals and corralled three rebounds in the victory over Purdue
  • Currently leads the Big Ten in steals per game with 2.6 and ranks third with 4.8 assists per contest
  • Earns his third career Big Ten Player of the Week plaudit and second this season

Freshman of the Week: Nigel Hayes, Wisconsin F - 6-7

  • Averaged 14.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game in leading -/#24 Wisconsin to a pair of Big Ten wins over Illinois and #9/8 Michigan State
  • For the week, shot 66.7 percent (8-of-12) from the field
  • In the road win over the Fighting Illini, scored 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting, pulled down four rebounds and swiped two steals
  • Scored 14 points, posted one block and tallied one steal while playing 36 minutes in the victory over Michigan State
  • In Big Ten play, ranks second among all players with a 58.2 field goal percentage and second among freshmen with 10.5 points per game
  • Earns his third Freshman of the Week honor
