CHICAGO -BTN LiveBIG continues Wednesday with stories about a Wisconsin initiative that brings cost-effective basic healthcare to remote communities in Kenya and the research of a disease affecting the honeybee population. The episode will air at approximately 11:30 PM ET Wednesday following the Northwestern at Wisconsin men?s basketball game. The episode will also air at 12:30 PM ET on Thursday and at 1:45 PM ET on Saturday.

This episode includes how Wisconsin Professor Dr. Araceli Alonso created Health by Motorbike, an initiative that delivers basic health education, services and equipment to women and children living in Kenya. Also featured in the episode is how a team at Wisconsin?s Currie Lab is investigating Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) in the honeybee population. The disease causes worker bees to disappear from their hives resulting in a significant decrease in pollinated agricultural crops worldwide.

The show will also feature a look at the Little Free Library initiative, a neighborhood book exchange that helps promote literacy throughout local communities. Also during the show, Wisconsin men?s basketball coach Bo Ryan shares with viewers why giving back to the local community is so important.
