The Big Ten announced its latest weekly men's basketball honors Monday morning, and a pair of Michigan players swept the awards. Star Nik Stauskas took Player of the Week and Derrick Walton Jr. claimed Freshman of the Week, this after the duo helped the Wolverines beat No. 10 Iowa and No. 3 Michigan State to stay perfect in Big Ten play.

Player of the Week: Nik Stauskas, Michigan G - So. - 6-6

  • Averaged 22.5 points, 4.5 assists, 3.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game in leading #21/T25 Michigan to wins over #10/10 Iowa and #3/3 Michigan State
  • For the week, shot 57.7 percent (15-of-26) from the field, 60.0 percent (9-of-15) from three-point range and 85.7 percent (6-of-7) from the free throw line
  • Against Iowa, scored a career-high tying 26 points on eight field goals, handed out five assists, pulled down five rebounds, tallied one steal and recorded one block
  • Scored 19 points in the road win at Michigan State, including a 5-of-6 effort on three-pointers, dished out four assists, collected two rebounds and tallied one steal
  • Currently ranks second in the Big Ten in scoring at 18.5 points per game, and leads the conference in three-point field goal percentage at 44.8 percent
  • Earns his second Big Ten Player of the Week honor in as many weeks, marking the first two plaudits of his career

Freshman of the Week: Derrick Walton Jr. G - 6-1

  • Scored a career-high 19 points, handed out five assists and corralled six rebounds in Michigan?s road victory at Michigan State
  • Shot 4-of-7 from the field, including a 2-of-2 effort from three-point range, and was 9-of-10 from the free throw line in 33 minutes played
  • In Big Ten play, currently ranks second in the conference in three-point field goal percentage at 53.8 percent
  • Currently leads all Big Ten freshmen in assists with 2.7 per game
  • Earns his first Freshman of the Week honor
