Video: Nik Stauskas blows kiss to Spartans fans

Nik Stauskas and Michigan had plenty of reasons to celebrate following their rivalry win at No. 3 Michigan State on Saturday night. Not only did the decision hand Michigan State its first loss and give Michigan sole possession of first place, it marked the team’s third consecutive win over a top 10 team, with two of the wins coming on the road. So, how did Stauskas celebrate? By blowing a kiss to the Breslin Center crowd after the final buzzer.

This is just a small bump in the road for Sparty. They are hands down the best team in the nation when healthy. When Dawson/Payne return there is no stopping this team.
This will be michigan’s best win this year. That stauskas kid will be sitting on his couch watching Sparty play in Dallas. Mark my words.

Why is the focus on nicks post game emotional release? Nothing else comes to the writers mind? What about the teams focused effort?

Who cares! Just trying to make something of nothing.

It’s all good, last season the Spartans laid the wood to them in East Lansing, winning 75-52, in the end what did it mean? Not much, Michigan was seven minutes away from a national title. Michigan State’s season will be defined by what happens in March and early April, period.

it’s the start of a long series of bumps for sparty if they are going to continue to feel sorry for themselves over a couple of injuries. Michigan’s best player has been out nearly all season.. yet they managed to beat three top ten teams in one week, and go undefeated in the Big-ten so far.

slimj901 the point is that McGary has been out all season. Our most recent injury is only a couple of days old. Give them a few more days and it will get worked out.

Sparty fans have taken on the persona of their coach: whiny, entitled, and quick to make every excuse in the book to explain why their beloved team didn’t win. Izzo’s postgame press conference was pathetic. It’s just a game, Tom. Ditto Appling’s “I feel like a lost a close relative.” Seriously?! I feel bad for his family because he cares about a basketball game as much as them. Get some perspective.

It was a good game for both I just don’t like everyone is hurt that’s why MSU didn’t win and Appling wrist is hurt why does he slap the court all the time it most not hurt that much and the one that broke his hand well that was stupid and he needs to get help for his temper he hurt the team so just let Michigan be happy and enjoy the win with out everyone saying things. Michigan had there players hurt and won’t play at all he had back surgey. Lets move on…..

Doug on 1/26/2014 @ 3:49pm EDT Said:

izzo isn’t crying, that’s the michigan fans from football season !

The MSU fans complaining about this must have no idea what Michigan players have to endure when they go to the Breslin Center. The crap they hear from the crowd is ridiculous. They were even going after Nik’s girlfriend who was sitting in the crowd. The kisses were warranted. If it were me I would’ve flipped the double bird as I left the court.

If I’m being honest, I wish Michigan fans were this vicious to visiting teams. Gives the home team a huge advantage. I’ve always thought the crowd at UM games was too subdued. But if it was like East Lansing, I would totally expect player reactions like this and certainly wouldn’t whine about sportsmanship.

it’s just classless. that’s all it is. nobody is whinning about lossing. we lost they played well. not going ot make excuses. it was just very unclassy after you get a win. come on, and don’t give us the “we get treated poorly at the breslin.” How do you think we get treated during football season when we play at michigan stadium. YOu aren’t the best hosts there either. take it for what it is…it was just unclassy. take your win leave the court and be the bigger person you beat your rival.
