CHICAGO -BTN LiveBIG continues Saturday with stories about Iowa?s use of flight simulators to help improve the safety of pilots and the College of Education?s REACH program designed for students with intellectual and cognitive disabilities. The episode will air at approximately 4 PM ET Saturday following the Minnesota at Iowa wrestling match.

This episode includes a look at Iowa?s Operator Performance Laboratory (OPL), which has transformed two L-29 jet aircraft and a Mi-2 helicopter into educational tools, using training programs both on the ground and in the air to yield valuable results in the fields of commercial aviation and military flight training to improve safety. Also featured in the episode is the UI REACH program, an advanced education experience on campus for students with learning disabilities.

The show will also feature a look at the National Advanced Driving Simulator (NADS), where researchers simulate near-crash situations to help drivers avoid danger on America?s roadways. Also during the show, Iowa men?s basketball coach Fran McCaffery shares with viewers his motivation to give back to the community.
