Penn State Director of Athletics Dave Joyner joined the BTN telecast during Saturday afternoon's Indiana-Penn State men's basketball game to talk about the hiring of football coach James Franklin. Franklin, the former Vanderbilt coach, replaces Bill O'Brien, who left after two season to become the head coach of the Houston Texans. Watch the interview in this post.

What drew Joyner and Penn State to Franklin?

"Well, Coach Franklin comes from a background of paying attention to the details we pay attention to here at Penn State: integrity, academics and championships," Joyner said.

Joyner added: "We were looking for someone who really had a long-term investment in Penn State. I believe Bill O'Brien did, too – just things happen the way they happen sometimes. Nothing against Bill."

BTN2Go will air Franklin's introductory press conference live at 4:15 p.m. ET. Learn more about how to watch it.
