The Big Ten office announced its weekly Big Ten men's basketball honors Monday. Minnesota's Austin Hollins claimed Player of the Week, while Purdue's Bryson Scott took Freshman of the Week. See what both players did to earn the honors in this post.

Player of the Week: Austin Hollins, Minnesota, G - Sr. - 6-4

  • Posted his third double-double of the season with a game-high 20 points and career-high 14 rebounds in the Golden Gophers? win over South Dakota State
  • Eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau for his career
  • Converted seven field goals against the Jackrabbits, corralled nine defensive boards and added three assists
  • Earns his first career Big Ten Player of the Week honor
  • Last Minnesota Player of the Week: Trevor Mbakwe (March 4, 2013)

Freshman of the Week: Bryson Scott, Purdue G - 6-1 

  • Scored 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting (.667) against Butler in the annual Crossroads Classic
  • Pulled down four rebounds, handed out three assists and swiped three steals
  • Recorded his second straight game with at least 15 points, and is shooting 56.3 percent from the field over the past two contests
  • Earns his second Freshman of the Week honor
