Spartans move on to NCAA quarterfinals

For the first time since 1968, the Michigan State men's soccer team is headed to the NCAA quarterfinals. The Spartans shut out reigning national runner-up Georgetown, 1-0, Sunday to move two wins away from battling for the national crown. MICHIGAN STATE 1, GEORGETOWN 0
Earning its program record-tying 13th shutout of the season, the 11th-seeded Michigan State men's soccer team (14-5-3) outlasted sixth-seeded Georgetown (14-5-2) 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Washington, D.C. NEW MEXICO 2, PENN STATE 0
The No. 16 Penn State men's soccer team had its season cut short in the NCAA Third Round by seventh-seeded New Mexico, 2-0, at the UNM Soccer Complex Sunday night in front of 3,347 fans.
