BTN Communications, November 15, 2013

At 7 PM ET tomorrow night, BTN will debut its first feature-length documentary in network history. Tiebreaker examines the aftermath of the 1973 Ohio State-Michigan football game, which ended in a 10-10 tie. With both the Buckeyes and Wolverines finishing the season with a 7-0-1 conference record, and only one Big Ten team able to play in a bowl game, Big Ten Athletic Directors had to vote on which school would represent the Big Ten in the Rose Bowl. It was an unprecedented moment in sports history, and the film?s team of producers did an incredible job of bringing viewers back in time. The 60-minute film features rare, archiProval footage and interviews with student-athletes, coaches and administrators who lived the moment.

Here are a few examples of the network?s promotional efforts, including ?Tiebreaker Week? on BTN.

On Saturday, Nov. 2, during Ohio State?s football game vs. Purdue, Archie Griffin, former Ohio State running back, and two-time Heisman Trophy winner, joined Kevin Kugler and Glen Mason in the booth to discuss the 1973 season and his participation in the film.

Quarterback of the 1973 Michigan team, Dennis Franklin will join Kugler and Mason in the booth during tomorrow?s Michigan vs. Northwestern game.

Both quarterbacks, Cornelius Green and Franklin were featured guests on #BTNLive.

We hosted a conference call for members of the media to discuss Tiebreaker with BTN President Mark Silverman, Coordinating Producer of BTN Originals Bill Friedman, Griffin, Franklin, and both of the film?s directors - Kevin Shaw and Matt Engel.

The information and input the reporters gained from the call led to a large number of print/web stories.

Friedman also joined several radio shows, including Mitch Albom, Lansing?s Jack Ebling, WHBC in Canton, ESPN 980 in Washington D.C., and Detroit Sports 105.1.

?The entire production team of Tiebreaker is thrilled for the debut of the film on Saturday,? said Friedman. ?The film is a milestone for BTN, and is a great example of the pride BTN Originals has in all of its projects. The media attention the film has been receiving is exciting for all of us involved? I always enjoy promoting BTN Originals on the radio because it?s very informative for me to hear what others in the sports media want to know about our programming.?
