(AP) Will Sheehey scored 15 of his 19 points in the second half, making the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:47 left to lead Indiana past pesky LIU-Brooklyn 73-72 on Tuesday. Indiana (2-0) continued its home mastery against non-conference foes barely avoiding a stunning upset to the three-time defending Northeast Conference champs.

MICHIGAN 93, SOUTH CAROLINA STATE 59 | RECAP | BOX | PLAY-BY-PLAY
(AP) Caris LeVert made his first five 3-point attempts, and No. 7 Michigan had a terrific night from beyond the arc, breezing to a 93-59 victory over South Carolina State on Tuesday night. LeVert finished with 24 points, going 6 of 7 from long distance. Nik Stauskas added 23 points – he was 5 of 6 from 3-point range. Both sophomores set career highs in scoring.

MICHIGAN STATE 78, KENTUCKY 74 | RECAP | BOX | PLAY-BY-PLAY
(AP) With Keith Appling, Gary Harris and Adreian Payne all scored in double figures for No. 2 Michigan State, Braden Dawson came up with the biggest basket, tipping in a miss with less than six seconds left to give the Spartans a 78-74 victory over top-ranked Kentucky on Tuesday night. James Young missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer, and the Spartans erupted in delight, with Harris holding up his index finger.

MINNESOTA 84, MONTANA 58 | RECAP | BOX | PLAY-BY-PLAY
(AP) Andre Hollins scored 24 points, shooting 8 for 14 from the floor, to lead Minnesota to an 84-58 victory on Tuesday over Montana, an NCAA tournament team last season. DeAndre Mathieu added 15 points and five assists for the Gophers (2-0), who used a 14-0 surge early in the second half to make a double-digit lead even safer. Minnesota finished 11 for 25 from 3-point range, and seven different players swished at least one shot from behind the arc.

NEBRASKA 62, WESTERN ILLINOIS 47  | RECAP | BOX | PLAY-BY-PLAY
(AP) Walter Pitchford scored all 14 of his points in the first half to lead four Nebraska players in double figures, and the Cornhuskers defeated Western Illinois 62-47 on Tuesday night to give Tim Miles his 300th coaching victory. The Huskers (2-0) played their second game without the suspended Ray Gallegos but had no problem against an opponent picked to finish fourth in the Summit League. They led by 23 points in the middle of the second half in a solid follow-up to their 24-point win over Florida Gulf Coast in last Friday's opener.

OHIO STATE 79, OHIO 69 | RECAP | BOX | PLAY-BY-PLAY
(AP) Aaron Craft scored 17 points – including eight free throws down the stretch – to help No. 10 Ohio State hold off neighboring rival Ohio 79-69 on Tuesday night. Amir Williams had a career-high 14 points, reserve Sam Thompson had 12 and LaQuinton Ross added 10 for the Buckeyes (2-0). Ohio State built a 12-point halftime lead and never trailed in a game with little continuity due to the constant whistles calling the new contact rules.

WISCONSIN 59, FLORIDA 53 | RECAP | BOX | PLAY-BY-PLAY
(AP) Sam Dekker scored 16 points, Traevon Jackson added 13 and No. 20 Wisconsin overcame a sloppy start Tuesday night to hold off No. 11 Florida in its home opener, 59-53. The Gators turned up their backcourt pressure to narrow a 10-point deficit to 51-48 with 2 minutes left on two free throws by center Patric Young. Another free throw by Young cut it to 56-53 with 41.8 seconds left.
