Nebraska third-string quarterback Ron Kellogg III orchestrated arguably the most ridiculous finish of the 2013 college football season Saturday. Down 24-21, and on his final attempt to rally the Huskers, Kellogg III unleashed a deep Hail Mary that was deflected by a Northwestern defender and fell right into Jordan Westerkamp's arms for a 49-yard game-winner.

Incredible. Again, this was a third-string quarterback. The receiver? A redshirt freshman with zero touchdowns.

But Kellogg III made it happen, first by avoiding the rush, and then by having enough on the throw – delivered from his own 43-yard line – to get it to the end zone.

"Just heave it as far as I can, I guess," Kellogg III said in his BTN postgame interview.

But none of this would have been possible if it wasn't for Ameer Abdullah's fourth-down heroics:
